Beer Garden Friday Sept 18
Unfortunately our beer garden will not be open Friday, Sept. 18. We will open at 12 PM on Saturday, Sept 19 with Sal’s Mobile Pizza on site with 2 new draft beer releases! Hope to see you Saturday.
Hello everyone, we have missed you all very much!
The taproom is open this Saturday the 25th of July! We will be hosting Sal’s Mobile Pizza truck along with our cold, crisp, and refreshing brews. Be on the look out for Lowell Lager which will be sure to refresh any level of thirst.
We are taking Covid-19 precautions and we look forward to you stopping by and safely having a beer and some fun!
We are excited to offer our home delivery service! Starting this week you will be able to start ordering online through our website at www.merrimackales.com
We are starting deliveries this Thursday and Friday. Next week, we plan to deliver Wed-Fri each week servicing specific regions on each day.
Visit our website ( www.merrimackales.com ) to access our new online store. You can place orders for pick up or delivery. All delivery orders must be placed at least 24 hours ahead and must include a food item. Pick up orders are placed on the table on our inner loading dock for a ‘zero contact’ experience.
As you’re likely aware, a lot of changes have been taking place over the last few days in response to the spread of corona virus. This weekend our governor declared a 3 week shut down for bars and restaurants, making them ‘take out’ only. So our taproom will be closed through April 5. BUT, we are launching:

This is a fluid situation and the safety of our staff, their families, and our guests remain our top priority. Please keep following us via social media and checking email for any additional updates. Meanwhile, we will keep producing exceptional beer and look forward to celebrating the successful containment and eradication of coronavirus with a pint or two!
Get your pals together and come to the taproom for team trivia! Starting this Thursday at 7 PM. The winning team each week gets a $25 brewery gift card* and the second place team gets to choose a wildcard topic for the next week’s competition. As always, we’ll have a wide array of fresh beers to enjoy while you’re here.
We know how important it is to provide a great experience, whether it’s making our new taproom a place you want to hang out or making sure our retail customers have fresh beer for you. We want to create a relaxed place, where you feel welcome to hang out, play games, chat, or just read while you enjoy a pint or two. To help do that, we’ve partnered with MainVest, which is an investment portal focused on growing a community – same as we are! For details:
There has been a lot of progress with the building construction since our last post. From today on, use this door to get to the brewery when you enter our building. You might be used to using the blue door when you come here, but now that won’t get you to the brewery! We will post a small sign on the blue door too.
There is a lot of activity at 92 Bolt Street, and it will get busier over the next few weeks. The folks who own our building have begun construction and are transforming about 2/3 of the building. What does it mean for us? A few very good things. First, we get new restrooms! And they are located right outside our door. Speaking of doors, we’re also getting a new front door & entry, which is right across the loading bay from our brewery door. And after the construction crews bring in their structural steel, a wall will be built across our loading bay, effectively separating the building. For us, it means that when you walk through the outer door, it will be very easy to see where we are.
In the meantime, things will be a bit hectic. During the weekdays, the parking lot will be busy with cars and construction vehicles. If you visit us on a lunch break, please be aware and park in a safe spot. Evenings and weekends should be calmer, but again, be aware that you’ll be in an active construction area, so please be safe.
Once this stage of the construction is complete, we can move ahead with our plans to get our taproom opened up – something we are very much looking forward to!
Remembering everyone that has made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and our freedom is what this weekend is about. From the days of the revolutionary war, to right now, American men and women have given all and words alone cannot convey the respect we have. Please take a moment over the next few days and reflect on what we have and how it has been won.
Because we also know this weekend has become a time for family and friends to get together and enjoy the unofficial start of summer. On that note, this year the weather might be mixed but we want you to be able to stock up so we are open Saturday 12-4 as usual, BUT ALSO OPEN SUNDAY 11-3!
The brewery will be CLOSED Monday.
What a busy day! Our taproom will be CLOSED TODAY, as we will be at the MBG Power Beer Fest in Boston’s SOWA market today. Jimmy will be pouring later today at the Crosspoint building a part of the Watham Fire Department’s charity event. That is from 5-9.
We hope you’re all safe, sound and thirsty after shoveling this latest round of New England winter. Our taproon will be open 4-8 today for samples, 4-packs and growler refills, so stop in and say Howdy!
And… Thanks to your help and support, we have made it to Round 2 of Boston Magazine’s 2018 Malt Madness!!!!!! We now face off against Ipswich Brewing. You can support us by voting ( you can vote over and over…if ya want to) and help us win this!
Boston Magazine has set the brackets for this year’s challenge: For you to pick your favorite MA brewery! Brewers are grouped by region (thanks to the Mass Brew Bros awesome map!) Click this link and vote for us!
It’s Winterfest time again! For the second year, we will be pouring drafts in the Winter Beer Garden within Lucy Larcom Park. The fest starts Friday, Feb 23 from 5 – 10:30 PM and Saturday, Feb 24 from 12 – 10:30 PM. We’ll have a solid selection of our beers ( Tinker Blonde, Maple Cream Porter, Alt Hypothesis, Rosie’s Coffee Stout, Honey CHAI, and MUCHO GUSTO).
Our tasting room will be CLOSED both Friday, 2/23 and Saturday 2/24, so come visit us at Winterfest and have a ball!
Since the MA ABCC issued their advisory in May, allowing MA breweries to fill blank growlers, we have watched how things have gone and we have paid attention to policy changes our fellow brewers have made. A few, Nightshift and Bog Iron both come to mind, have stopped filling growlers to maintain a high level of product quality – so you, the consumer, get the beer the way it’s supposed to be. We all know how beer can go flat if you don’t go through a growler all at once and that truly has a negative effect on the quality of the beer. And…with social media posts, UnTappd and other apps where beers get rated, bad ratings can effect whether someone buys or passes on your beer.
So what do we do?
We have current inventory of both 64 oz. growlers and 32 oz. squealers, and there are hundreds of each out in circulation. So we will continue to fill those, and blank 32 & 64 oz. growlers meeting the ABCC advisory, we just won’t be stocking any additional growlers/squealers. Lots of you like the look and ease of the growlers (Adam likes the aesthetic of the branded glassware) so keep coming back to get yours refilled.
But to push that high quality argument, we now have 4-packs of 16 oz. cans available (same amount as a growler) and we offer mixed 4-packs and single can purchases, so you can be sure to get our beer the way we intended it. Now that we have in-house canning capability, we will continue moving more of our beers to cans and you’ll have a wide selection available here at the brewery. Please let us know any questions you have when you visit, or at email@example.com.
